Holiday Party | Client: Microsoft | Seattle, WA

This was a holiday party I designed and produced for Microsoft in Seattle, Washington. The client had already selected the venue and catering team and expressed a clear vision for a “Great Gatsby” themed event. With that direction and the venue’s ground plans in hand, I began planning a high-impact experience tailored to their needs.

To accommodate the large guest count, we installed a sizable tent in the parking lot, transforming it into an immersive extension of the event space. The celebration was grand in both scale and concept. Entertainment included flapper dancers, silhouette performers in the second-story windows overlooking the main event space, a trapeze artist serving champagne to guests, casino tables, and a showcase room filled with vintage cars for guests to explore.

I designed and oversaw all drapery, including the transformation of the outdoor tent. The interior was fully draped from ceiling to floor in luxurious black satin fabric to evoke a glamorous, 1920s ambiance. I also custom-designed the backdrop for the bar using hand-folded gold paper fans mounted on foam core, creating a stunning textured display behind the bartender.

I collaborated closely with all entertainers, guiding wardrobe selections to ensure cohesion with the Gatsby theme. I also partnered with a lighting company and DJ to deliver the perfect atmosphere and sound for the evening.

With only one day for load-in and a single loading dock, logistics required precise coordination. I developed a detailed load-in schedule, allowing all vendors to efficiently access, unload, and exit the space without delay. The result was a seamless production that brought Microsoft’s Gatsby vision to life in spectacular fashion.

Holiday Santa Clause Rave | Client: Disney | Underground Atlanta

This was a holiday party I designed and produced for Disney’s “Dashing Through the Snow” at Underground Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. The script provided the creative direction for a bold and unconventional theme: a Santa Claus Rave. With that vision and the venue layout in hand, I began developing an immersive, high-energy event experience for on-camera and the viewing audience.

Given the unique venue and the extras count, we utilized multiple zones within Underground Atlanta to create multi-layered experience. The main event space was transformed into a full-blown rave environment, complete with pulsating lights, red and green LED dance floor, snow machines, neon installations, LED furniture, and oversized holiday décor with a twist—think Santa hats, candy canes, and blacklight-reactive snowflakes.

Entertainment was central to the concept. We brought in DJs spinning EDM remixes of holiday classics, a band decked from head-to-toe in holiday themed costumes, LED-lit dancers dressed as rave-ready Santas and elves, and even a “Naughty or Nice” bar concept serving custom cocktails themed to each list. I also created a photo op wall made from suspended tinsel, LED string lights, and inflated ornaments, which everyone raved about on set.

I designed the draping and spatial flow throughout, including blackout and color-wash areas for mood transitions. A standout design moment was the entrance tunnel: lined with mirrored mylar and lit with red and green strobes, it created the feeling of stepping into an underground North Pole rave.

I worked closely with the entertainers on wardrobe and cinematography and outside partners to stay on-theme, and partnered with both a lighting and sound team to create an immersive, beat-driven environment. With limited load-in access and tight timelines, I created a comprehensive production schedule to coordinate vendor arrival, setup, and teardown.

The final result was a vibrant, unexpected holiday celebration that merged Disney magic with rave culture—an unforgettable experience for guests and a huge success for the client.
